When passengers cannot find a suitable direct train with a suitable time and seat on the 12306 platform, they can also choose to view the transfer plan. The reporter noticed that the railway department provides various transfer methods such as in car seat exchange, same car transfer, same station transfer, and same city transfer. Different options will be marked with corresponding text on the page, and passengers can clearly distinguish the types of transfers.

Unlike other transfer options, 'in car seat change' does not require exiting or changing trains, only changing seats. This new method provides passengers with richer choices during peak travel periods such as National Day and Spring Festival.

According to the official name, this new feature is called "same car continuity". According to China Railway Group, in order to provide more choices for passengers' travel, the 12306 mobile app and website of the railway have launched the same train connection function. After checking the tickets, click on the "Transfer" tab. Based on providing different train transfer schemes, the system can combine the remaining tickets of the same or different seats in different sections of the same train that can be combined to form the same train connection scheme for passengers to choose from.

For example, for the second-class ticket of the Beijing West to Zhengzhou/Zhengzhou East high-speed railway train on September 29th, there are currently not many available times and train numbers. After choosing the "in car seat change" transfer plan, the selection space is significantly increased and the departure time is more flexible.

On October 7th, the K508 train from Chongqing West to Beijing West only has hard seat tickets. If you choose the transfer option, you can purchase hard seat and hard sleeper tickets separately through the "in car seat change" method, making the travel experience slightly more comfortable.

After selecting the same train connection, passengers can purchase two sets of tickets at once through the 12306 system, without the need to manually select two sets of tickets.

The reporter learned from the railway department that same train connection is a newly launched function that provides passengers with more choices and facilitates the travel of passengers who have not purchased direct tickets. Essentially, it belongs to a type of transit ticket.

The reporter learned that previously, if passengers purchased such tickets, they could only recommend them through third-party platform systems or purchase them based on route information, which was inconvenient. Now, the 12306 railway platform can directly provide a "seat change in the car" plan, and passengers only need to change seats directly at the transfer station after purchasing the ticket.

However, the discounts implemented for the corresponding train numbers may vary, and the ticket price for changing seats in the train may also differ from the direct ticket price.

According to China Railway Group, passengers who choose the same train connection plan do not need to change trains midway, they can simply change seats on the same train. The ticket prices for each section still follow the principle of decreasing gradually, that is, the longer the mileage, the lower the average fare rate, and the total ticket price is the sum of the ticket prices for the two sections.

According to the Railway 12306 Science and Technology Innovation Center, railway transportation during the National Day holiday will begin on September 29th and end on October 8th, lasting for 10 days. Since the sale of train tickets for the first day of National Day Golden Week transportation (September 29th) on September 15th, as of 9:00 am on the 24th, a total of 56.13 million tickets have been sold from September 29th to October 7th, and the 12306 railway system is running smoothly.

During the peak travel period from September 29th to October 1st, there are still tickets available for some trains in the directions of Beijing Tianjin round-trip, Suzhou Shanghai, Nanjing Shanghai, Shenzhen Hong Kong round-trip, Baoding Beijing, Nanning Guangzhou, Shanghai Suzhou, etc; During the peak return period after the holiday from October 6th to 7th, some trains from Shanghai to Nanjing, Shenzhen to Hong Kong, Guangzhou to Nanning, Beijing to Shanghai, Shanghai to Suzhou, Chengdu to Chongqing and other directions still have tickets available; During the holiday period from October 2nd to 5th, there will be relatively sufficient remaining tickets in all directions; From September 24th to 28th, there were basically sufficient remaining tickets in all directions.

The railway department reminds that during holidays, passenger travel is highly concentrated, and there may be a shortage of tickets for trains in some popular directions and hot periods.
